Performance in a bodysuit with three-meter long sleeves
A dance-style bodysuit constructed by the artist with sleeves built to encompass, wrap, twirl, float and tangle the performer when worn. Initially used as a tool to provide graceful opportunity and frustrating restriction while dancing, the garment now smeared with makeup, dirt and sweat post-performance hangs limply on the wall. This post-performance state evokes imagined visions of the dancer, twirling her sleeves like ribbon, while the existence of the state and form of the garment ensures the reality of a moving, feminine body in a constricted state is not forgotten.
